Restoration of Rusty Bent Rifle Barrel

Hello folks! Today I have a new restoration. My friend has come up with a huge project, in which I’m helping him. The goal is to restore the rifle barrel around the end of the 18th century. The rifle was manufactured in Georgia (most likely in the eastern region). The main goal is to make the trunk straight and remove as much rust as possible. In this state, it is perfect for the final project. Which I’ll show you, but I don’t know when. Well, let’s start the restoration! The first duty, I mechanically removed the surface layer of rust and placed the barrel in a rust remover. After 1 day, I started cleaning and washing it. It took a lot of time. After cleaning, I moved on to straightening the trunk. With the help of an oven, I heated the barrel and straightened it in a vice.
