Woah Dude

The XYZ data set is imported as Maya particles using MEL. There are about 2.5 million points. Opacity is set to 0.5 and Color Accumulation turned on. The spherical distortion is achieved by offsetting particle positions away from the center of origin through a sin(distance time) expression. note: I’ve uploaded this clip many times, trying to preserve quality, but youtube’s compression always degraded it to the point of being almost unwatchable. Eventually I gave up trying to fix it.
