ArianeGroup conducted a hot fire test of the core stage of the Ariane 6 launch vehicle, on the launch pad at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on 5 September 2023. During the test, a simulation of an entire launch sequence was performed, ending with 4 seconds of stabilized operation of the core stage’s Vulcain 2.1 engine. A core stage long hot-fire test will be performed in the future, including about 8 minutes (470 seconds) of operation for the Vulcain 2.1 engine.
