01. Intro - Led Zeppelin [1971-09-03 - Live at New York]

1971 was always by far one of my favourite ever Led Zeppelin live years, and i think that this show isn’t exception. The quality of this recording is a bit rough but listenable, and it’s almost complete, due some slight cuts. This is possibly the most underrated Zep gig at the Madison Square Garden, and i even understand why--the crowd is absolutely MAD, not cooperating troghout the show, and even forcing the band to stop Thank You halfway the song! The surprise, however, is that the bad atmosphere doesn’t ruin the performances: every member of the band sounds strong, and Plant is in superb vocal shape! He delivers awesome versions of Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, Black Dog, Stairway To Heaven (listen how disrupting the crowd is), That’s The Way, What Is And What Should Never Be, Communication Breakdown and Rock And Roll!
