Revived from scratch: the machine tool boom in Russia

The lowest point of the decline of the machine tool industry in Russia was 2009. That year, only 1,774 metal-cutting machines and 1,094 forging and pressing machines were assembled. And in the same year 2009, the Government is taking the first steps towards resuscitation. In those years, Russia was just beginning to come to its senses after the collapse of the USSR, the Yeltsin 90s, the wars in the Caucasus and bandit lawlessness.
