It’s Lois here today, join me for a really simple spontaneous semi-abstract landscape that was so much fun to paint! Using the wet in wet method and just 2 colours - paynes grey and raw sienna - you can paint some really wonderful landscapes by just letting the paint and water flow together and seeing what happens. The trick is to look for any opportunities to turn particular marks into landscape features, and learn to exploit those opportunities to the full. This can take a bit of practice, but it is a wonderful way to loosen up, take the pressure off yourself and have fun! It’s a great way to find new effects and to get rid of any tension as a warm-up exercise before a more planned painting.
