Home education: the state does not own your children. Yet.

In Britain, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has announced that the creation of a register for home educated children is imminent. The last time such a thing was planned, in 2009, there was an enormous fuss. Now, because of the Covid-19 panic, nobody seems too bothered. It raises the question though of who a child’s parents actually are; the mother and father or the state?
