Bas Ya Bahar The Cruel Sea 1972 Arabic with English subtitles

Bas Ya Bahar (The Cruel Sea) was the first feature film made in Kuwait in 1972. Directed by Khalid Al Siddiq, it shows a realistic interpretation of life in a conservative and religious society before the arrival of oil in the 1940s. The subtitles and filming have a raw realism to them and are even off-putting at times. The film is regarded as a masterpiece by some, offering a rare insight into a culture and history little-known of in the western world. I hope you enjoy this film as much as I enjoyed trying to find a decent version with English subtitles.
