With the advances in camera technology Hans used a portable camera and we shot pretty much geurilla style - show up, ask permission and shoot on the fly. If memory serves, Doug referred to this video as an ‘alternative beer commercial’ - a tongue-in-cheek variation on the weary worker walking into the sunset with his pals for a frosty beverage. It’s right there in the lyric: ‘Been workin’ like a dog gone crazy, been giving everything I’ve got…pack it in and go to town when the sun goes down…’ but come to think of it, there was no frosty beverage at the end of the rainbow for these weary workers. Damn! We set up vignettes inserting ourselves into typical work environments in our East Van neighbourhood.
