Over the next 30 years, Ringsby grew by acquiring other trucking companies. In 1969, Ringsby began experiencing financial problems which were compounded in the mid-1970s by a 3 year union strike. Ringsby recovered by 1981 but could not return to its former profitability and shut down for good in 1984. One bit of trivia: company founder J.W.
