This 1967 film “Jamboree for Friendship“ covers the events of the 12th Boy Scout Word Jamboree held in Idaho, with the theme of “friendship.” It begins with Scouts arriving from all corners of the world and touring sights in the US in New York, San Francisco, and Detroit. This is followed by the elaborate opening ceremony of the Jamboree, which includes a flag raising ceremony. Scouts engage in multiple activities throughout the Jamboree which includes cultural exchange, adventure courses, various games, a skill competition, and a religious service for all. The Jamboree ends with a closing ceremony that features various traditional dances performed by Scouts. Lady Baden-Powell (the first Chief Guide for Britain) makes multiple appearances throughout the film.

Lady Olave Baden-Powell (1889-1977) was the wife of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting. She made major contributions to the development of the Guide/Girl Scout movements, she visited 111 countries during her life, attending Jamborees and national Guide and Scout associations.
The World Scout Jamboree is a Scouting jamboree of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17. The 12th World Scout Jamboree was held July 31 to August 9, 1967, and was hosted by the United States at Farragut State Park, in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho. It was the second World Scout Jamboree to take place in North America.
