This short, raw bit of footage from Armed Forces Radio and TV shows comedian Bob Hope and his troupe about to board a USO flight to Vietnam, Thailand and Guam for Christmas in 1965. The location is Los Angeles World Airport, or LAX. Accompanying Hope on the trip were Anita Bryant, Carol Baker, the Nicholas Brothers, Miss USA Dianna Lynn Batts, Joey Heatherton, Les Brown and his Band of Renown, and more. Anita Bryant speaks to the USAF reporter at 2:46. At 3:30, Bob Hope speaks to the reporter. At 4:14 Hope is joined by Kaye Stevens. At 5:20 the director of USO shows speaks to the reporter. The aircraft shown is Military Air Transport Service MATS tail #64-0646, a C-141 Starlifter. (Note: according to the Internet, this same aircraft was attacked in Thailand in 1968, and the flight engineer killed.)
