LIVE: Protests against eviction continue in East Jerusalem neighbourhood

Protesters rally in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah on Friday, May 7, against the imminent evictions of Palestinian families who have been living in the region for decades. On Thursday, Israeli forces raided the area for the fourth straight night in response to the ongoing rallies. Palestinian locals have been protesting against the eviction after the Israeli district court in East Jerusalem approved a decision to force six Palestinian families out of their homes in May in favour of Israeli settlers. It also ruled that another seven families in Sheikh Jarrah are to leave their homes by August 1.
