DIY Cheap String Launcher Alternative IT WORKS! Need a big rope up high?

Fishing line is near-USELESS for pulling ropes into trees. You need something more heavy-duty. But if you are hesitant to spend a good chunk of change on a commercial string launcher, you might be surprised to find that you, your Dad or a friend already have one and no one knew it! If you already have access to these items - you are looking at no out-of-pocket money. I know, duh.... Bottom line - this works and I 100% prove it right here. For me, I found that fish line was too problematic to use. Pulling up a heavy rope with fish line is very hard, plus the tiny fish line tends to bite into the bark. Or it constantly gets tangled in the tiny branches. The thicker string has much less issues with that. Regarding physical prowess required, I have 2 artificial knees and disc degeneration disease in my back, so if I can do this without any strain, then almost anyone can. Start with a long rod, 8 feet or longer - longer means more APPLIED force. It’s simple physics, you just move a long rod through a wide arc and the force at the end of the rod goes through the roof. If you have a healthy body, there is no telling how far you could launch your string, so use common sense. As always, make sure you aren’t launching objects toward people, animals or personal property. You assume all risk if you try this. If your rod breaks, then I cannot and will not be responsible for any loss you suffer. If you are a true DIY’er, you understand that some risk is always inherent. That’s the fine line we walk and personally accept. Blah, blah, I have to say that, but just be safe and again - use common sense. Also, if your limb is really high, it is not unusual to have to ADD string as you lower your weight down once it is across the limb. Nylon string is not only much stronger than fish line, but THICKER. “Thick“ is why it works. My small surf reel could only hold about 90 feet of string, but I imagine there are reels that could double that. Just keep your large roll of string next to you to extend the line before the reel plays out. Simple and easy. Thanks for watching!
