This is my personal Tribute Video for Joey Jordison (1975 - 2021) . Rest In Peace. When reading the news of Joey Jordison’s passing, it was something I couldn’t believe. Slipknot is a band that influenced me early on - like many of you - and I remember listening to People = Sh!t for the first time, the song that introduced me to them. These crazy doublebass drums, the aggressiveness, the riffs, this unique sound. Joey Jordison had a huge impact on the sound of Slipknot, that is undeniable - a true mastermind. All of that hypnotized me and I binge-watched a lot of Slipknot live performances. Joey’s stunt during “Spit It Out“ at e.g. Download Festival 2009 where the drums would spin was something that made my jaw drop. Not only the stuff he is playing is crazy, he could also do that upside down... He was THAT great. We lost an icon, maybe the most influential drummer of the past years.
