Ateshgah, Azerbaijan’s sacred fire temple | Big In Baku

The Ateshgah temple was long a centre of pilgrimage and worship for the ancient inhabitants of Azerbaijan. On 26 April, Ateshgah provided the flame for the Baku 2015 European Games Torch. The subsequent Journey of the Flame took the spirit of the Games across Azerbaijan ahead of the lighting of the cauldron at the Baku 2015 Opening Ceremony on 12 June.
