Ben Browning - “Friends of Mine“ (Official Music Video)

For his “Friends Of Mine” video Ben Browning rewinds time to catch up with some old friends. Directed by NY-based filmmakers Trouble Hands, the video was shot in a six-room, 500-square-foot 1920s beach bungalow. As the camera spins a cast of characters cycle through their daily routines, repeating the same acts, again and again—preparing a meal, stacking books, pacing back and forth on the phone (a fitting cameo from Alex Karpovsky of Girls)—like a snagged needle in a locked groove. Ben watches on as things get surreal, walking through the rooms of the house, as if recreating a modern take on “It’s A Wonderful Life” (by way of share-house classic “Dogs In Space”). Repetitive sure, but even in such tight quarters these Friends don’t cramp your style.
