Tour de France 2023, Stage 21 (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines - Paris), course, route, profile, animation

“Sunday, 23 July The last stage of the Tour starts at the Vélodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and ends on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The route is 115.1 kilometres long. As always, the lead-up is uneventful, with a photo shoot here and a raised champagne glass there. As soon as the riders turn onto the final circuit of just under 7 kilometres, the pace skyrockets. With eight lightning-fast laps and several attacks, the riders say goodbye to the spectators, while the result has been the same since 2005: a bunch sprint. In the last two editions, a Fleming celebrated in Paris. Jasper Philipsen succeeded Wout van Aert last year, who in turn followed in the footsteps of Sam Bennett (2020), Caleb Ewan (2019), Alexander Kristoff (2018), Dylan Groenewegen (2017), André Greipel (2016, 2015), Marcel Kittel (2014, 2013) and Mark Cavendish (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009). Five of those riders are also competing in this year’s Tour. So there is a chance that there will be a repeat winner.“ ( & Routes ’n’ Maps ’n’ Flags) Creating cycling stage animations requires a lot of work and computing power.
