Driver arrested after car crashes into Buckingham Palace

Armed police have arrested a driver after he crashed his car into the main gates of Buckingham Palace. Officers shouted “keep your hands on your head” as they surrounded the vehicle, which rammed into the entrance of the royal residence in the early hours of Saturday morning. The Metropolitan Police confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, but said enquiries are ongoing to “establish the circumstances” of the crash. The incident is not thought to be terror related.
