In grateful memory to Gary Brooker (1945 - 2022) Procol Harum’s 40th Anniversary Concert, London, St. John’s, Smith Square, 20 July 2007. Line up: Gary Brooker - voc, piano Geoff Whitehorn - guitar, voc Matt Pegg - bass, voc Josh Phillips - organ, synth Geoff Dunn - drums ““Fat Cats“ originally was an outtake from Gary Brooker’s first solo album NO MORE FEAR OF FLYING (1979). The song saw it’s first official release as a bonus track on the 1997 CD reissue on Repertoire Records. It made its way onto the Procol Harum setlists from time to time, here heard in the context of 2007’s 40th Anniversary Concert in London. This song’s live version from Rockpalast TV ( Markthalle in Hamburg, Germany, 18 February 1983) caused some controversial reaction here. It will be interesting to read the comments on this proper Procol treatment.
