Total Melodic Freedom: Rhythmic Momentum

This is the third installment of the Demystify Jazz series. This applies to all styles of music. Here I address how really understanding rhythmic momentum is the key to playing like the masters. When you know where you are going and how to connect two points musically you have TOTAL freedom to literally play anything you want regardless of the key or the chord. This is the big secret to improvisation and composition in all styles of music. If you REALLY want to play freely with endless ideas like Charlie Parker, Art Tatum, Dexter Gordon, Barry Harris or any of the jazz greats THIS is the first step.
