Make a Scrappy Log Cabin Hexagon Quilt Block

Start with a cutting out a hexagon shape (the template I used is for a 1“ hexagon seam allowance) and place on a scrap piece of batting. Use strips of fabric (mine are cut at 1.5“ wide) to sew around the sides. Keep sewing strips on until the hexagon has reached the desired size. Trim off excess batting. These cute log cabin hexagon blocks can be finished into coasters, Christmas ornaments, trivets, pot holders, table toppers, placemats, the outside panel on a bag, a stocking, or numerous other ideas!
