El Tango de Roxanne ( String Quartet )

Roxanne’s Tango is part of the musical universe of the musical Moulin Rouge. It is a mash up based on two original songs, the first is a 1957 tango composed by the great argentine composer Mariano Mores called “Tanguera“, the second is a classic from The Police composed by Sting in 1978. The result is a powerful song that, with the help of an arrangement for string quartet, becomes one of the best sessions we have been able to share throughout this project. The string quartet is perhaps the most iconic ensemble of classical music, and at the same time it is one of the most difficult to manage, there is so much musicality, so much emotional information in two violins, a viola and a cello that this has been a journey of learning.
