Jingle Bells Boogie | Nicolas BALDEYROU and Radio France All Star

Dear friends, I hope you are well! I’m pleased to present the first Christmas video in a series of three that I’ve made for Radio France with my friends from the orchestras. This is my arrangement of jingle bells boogie formerly made for clarinets, which I have here developed for brass band (and clarinet of course 😇). Originally, Jingle bells was written by James Lord Pierpont in 1857 and was titled “The One Horse Open Sleigh“. It was intended for Thanksgiving, not Christmas but over time, the song became associated with Christmas festivities despite its initial Thanksgiving context. It has the unique distinction of being the first song played in space. In December 1965, astronauts Wally Schirra and Tom Stafford played a prank during Gemini 6 mission by reporting they saw a UFO, followed by playing “Jingle Bells“ on a harmonica accompanied by small bells. I hope you like it! See you next Saturday for the next video! Take care and stay safe ❤
