GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Rangers, Game 6 () | Back to New York
The Penguins were looking to recover from Game 5 in New York, and things got off to a great start for Game 6. Jeff Carter notched his fourth goal of the playoffs roughly 3/4 of the way through the opening period, followed up by Bryan Rust only 1:36 after that. Going into the intermission, the Penguins held a 2-0 lead. Then, the Rangers struck back. Zibanejad scored his first two goals of the series to even the score, 2-2. Kreider added to that New York push a few minutes later, making it 3-2 in favor of the visitors. However, Evgeni Malkin picked off a pass at the blue line and took it in for a breakaway, beating Shesterkin to knot things up, 3-3. In the 3rd, Kreider notched his second tally of the game, and Copp put the puck into an empty net to send the series back to New York for Game 7.
