W.A. Mozart: “Così fan tutte“ (Glyndebourne, 1951)
Fritz Busch leads this performance from 1951 of Mozart’s opera featuring Sena Jurinac, Alice Howland, Isa Quesnel, Richard Lewis, Marko Rothmüller, and Sesto Bruscantini. Many consider this performance to be the finest performance on record of Mozart’s opera. Some portions of the original broadcast were lost and the engineer preparing this record borrowed the few minutes needed for each act from other Glyndebourne performances with Busch in 1935 and 1950, as well as a 1940 performance in Oslo of the overture by Busch to make a complete recording.
- Overture 0:00
- Act I 4:12
- Act II 1:19:37
