Day Seven Finals Preview Show

On Friday night FOUR of the eight wrestlers have Olympic golds on their resumes as you’ll see finals at 70kg, 79kg, 86kg, and 125kg. Furthermore, with golds tonight, Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) and Taha AKGUL (TUR) will become their nation’s most credentialed world champions ever. But before we get to that, let’s talk about the finals at 70kg, where Asian champion Tai-shi NARI-KUNI (JPN) will wrestle Zain RETHERFORD (USA). At 79kg, you’ll see a rematch of the 2021 world finals between Olympic champion Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) and Mohammad NOK-HO-DILARIMI (IRI). If Burroughs can get past his Iranian foe tonight, he’ll win an American freestyle best SIX world titles. In the 86kg finals, you’ll see another rematch from the last year’s world finals. It’ll be the fifth meeting between Olympic champions Hasan YAZDANI (IRI) and David TAYLOR (USA). The American owns a 3-1 advantage coming into Belgrade, but Yazdani has the momentum as he won their Oslo meeting a year ago. W
