Demonstration of magnetron plasma

Shows how the magnet assembly in a sputtering gun confines the plasma to a thin “ring“ on the surface of the cathode. Important: The video shows me handling the jamjar under vacuum. This is definitely NOT a good idea - jamjars were never intended as vacuum vessels and could implode. Make sure you use suitable protection - for example a wire mesh shield, leather gloves and eye/face protection. For more details, please see my page at:
