JACS in Conversation with Professor Roald Hoffmann

JACS in Conversation With… the Journal of the American Chemical Society presents interviews with accomplished scientists in chemistry. In this interview, Editor-in-Chief Professor Erick Carreira speaks with Professor Roald Hoffman. Professor Hoffmann is the Frank H.T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters at Cornell University. In 1981, Hoffmann received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, which he shared with Kenichi Fukui “for their theories, developed independently, concerning the course of chemical reactions“. Watch the video to learn about Professor Hoffmann’s fascinating career, his approach to running a research group, and why he’s still educating non-chemists about chemistry, even from his retirement home.
