African Cichlid - Labeotropheus trewavasae “Mpanga Red“ (Mbuna)

Scientific Name : Labeotropheus trewavasae (Mpanga) (Chilumba) Common Name : Scrapermouth Mbuna Family: Cichlidae, Mbuna Origin : Lake Malawi, Africa Size : 8 inches / 20 cm PH : 7.4 - 8.5 Temperature : 74-80 F Temperament : Aggressive but not over the top. Full grown adult males will require at least a 4 foot aquarium and if you plan on keeping other dominant cichlids, provide them with a 6 foot tank as a minimum. Males do well with at least 3-4 females to help disperse aggression. Once established, these mbuna a very enjoyable to watch. Varieties from Mpanga and Chilumba look practically identical.
