“A Good Horse“ is dedicated to retired and adopted racehorses around the world, and anyone who has started over in life. The song was inspired by the cross country journey of Lady J, who raced as “Dr. J’s Buck.“ Lady J, and her trainer, Kryss Helfrich, left the Oregon Coast in late August 2020, headed for Churchill Downs in Kentucky, then down to Georgia, and back to Oregon. They ride with Kryss’s mom, Victoria, and her loyal quarterhorse, Chica, and dozens of friends along the way. Follow along online at
