Handmade Sweet Chestnut Roof Shingles part 1

Mr Joel Richard of Ets Joel Richard gives a demonstration of how to make sweet chestnut roof shingles from a round chestnut log. Mr Richard took over the running of the factory which is located in Benevent L’Abbaye in the Creuse (department 23) in central France in the 1950’s after working for it’s former owners. With so many years of experience he makes the process look so easy and natural.
