Everything we know about The Fly: ‘Drug boss’ inmate on the run

A manhunt is underway after a drug kingpin known as ’The Fly’ escaped from a prison van in northern France. Two prison officers were killed in the attack after four gunmen ambushed the police convoy at a motorway tollbooth. The escaped prisoner is 30-year-old Mohamed Amra, nicknamed “La Mouche”, which translates to “The Fly”. He is allegedly the head of an organised narcotics network and had recently been sentenced for a robbery. At the time of the ambush, he was already under high surveillance and was being transported to jail after attending a court hearing. The search for the suspect remains ongoing.
