Thomas Edison invented the phonograph in 1877. Over a decade later, Edison utilized phonograph technology to create his Talking Doll. Manufactured from 1888 to 1890, Edison Talking Dolls played back nursery rhymes such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Little Jack Horner.
