Defiant Ukraine Couple Gets Married in City’s Ruins

Not even an invasion by Russian forces could keep Ukrainian couple Anastasia and Anton from getting married in Kharkiv. The country’s second largest city has experienced weeks of shelling, air strikes, fires, and unknown numbers of human casualties. Yet amidst the suffering, love won out. Among the guests at their wedding in a metro station were friends and family, the city’s mayor, and people who’ve been forced to live underground for their safety.
