A tour of Caddo lake’s enchanted Cypress Forest

This video is about Caddo lake---a lake that spans the Texas/Louisiana border, not far from Texarkana. Caddo lake is Texas’ only natural lake and a cypress forest in the midst of the lake creates a visual wonder which one never tires of seeing. The translucence of the spanish moss and the immense cypress trees seem to transform in the sunlight all throughout the day, creating a never ending array of primordial mystery, beauty and visual delight. The lake footage was shot with a Canon C300 Mk II, all hand held with Canon STM lenses, edited on FCPX and color graded with Color Finale. the opening footage of trees, flowers and plants were shot on a Canon C100 Mk II--all footage was shot in C-Log gamma, rec. 709. Special thanks to Captain Ronald Gibbs who provides terrific tours of the lake with fascinating historical commentary delivered with a Texas-style homespun delivery to the delight of thousands who come every year.
