Turkey’s Erdogan reiterates stance against Nordics bid ahead of NATO summit - YouTube

Turkey will not change its stance against Sweden and Finland at the Madrid NATO leaders summit, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday (June 27). Turkey has previously blocked bids by Sweden and Finland to join the Western military alliance, accusing them of harboring Ankara’s foes including members of the banned Kurdish PKK militant group. Speaking after a cabinet meeting in capital Ankara, Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s disapproval towards the two countries’ bid to join NATO and urged his counterparts to take concrete steps in order to meet Turkey’s concerns.
