Putin reveals delivery plans of hypersonic Zircon missile at Russia’s Navy Day Parade - YouTube
Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that the latest hypersonic Zircon missile will be delivered to Russian military in the coming months and will be first installed on the frigate Admiral Gorshkov, which will then be deployed according to Russia’s interests and national defense needs.
This year’s Naval Day parade, on a smaller scale compared with past editions, features over 40 naval vessels, 42 aircrafts and some 3,500 soldiers.
Putin also signed decrees on Russia’s revised Naval Doctrine and ship charter of the Russian Navy earlier that day. The new doctrine takes into account ’change in the geopolitical and military-strategic situation in the world’, according to previous statement from a Russian official.
Celebrations are also held in other cities, such as Murmansk and Vladivostok. But planned evens in Sevastopol, Crimea were all urgently cancelled due to a drone attack by Ukraine on the headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet on early Sunday morning.
