STARS IN THE SKY, The Channels, (Whirlin Disc #102) 1956

STARS IN THE SKY, The Channels, (Whirlin Disc #102) 1956 Flipside: THE GLEAM IN YOUR EYES – Here is another really great classic up-tempo song from my music collection. It was co-written by Earl Lewis. The Channels hailed from Harlem, New York. Group members were Earl Lewis (lead), Larry Hamden (1st tenor), Billy Morris (2nd tenor), Edward Dolphin (baritone) and Clifton Wright (bass). The group members came together in 1955 when members Larry, Billy, Edward and two other members formed a quintet known as The Channels. They were all from the 115th street area of Harlem, New York. The lead and the bass left the group and the three remaining members (Larry, Billy and Edward) found Earl Lewis and Clifton Wright singing with a group called The Lotharios at a talent show. Earl and Clifton were recruited, and the rest is history!! Earl Lewis and The Channels would go on to record some really great songs on many different record labels - Whirlin Disc, Gone, Fire, Groove, Rare Bird,
