‘Israeli strike’ kills Hamas deputy leader and senior commanders in Beirut

Hamas’s deputy leader and six other senior figures have been killed in a blast in Beirut. Saleh al-Arouri, orchestrator of Hamas in the West Bank, was killed in the strike. CCTV footage purports to show the moment the fatal blast hit the Lebanese capital. The night sky lights as a Hamas office in the Dahiyeh neighbourhood explodes. Lebanese media said the strike was carried out by an Israeli drone, while US officials said Israel was responsible. Israel itself has not claimed responsibility for the blast. It has raised fears of a second front opening in the war between Israel and Hamas. Fighting is currently limited to Gaza, but has been threatening to spread to Lebanon. That could drag in Hezbollah, which is better armed than Hamas and linked to Iran. #dailymail #israel #hamas Daily Mail Homepage: Daily Mail Facebook: Daily Mail IG: Daily Mail Snap: Daily Mail Twitter: Daily Mail Pinterest: Get the free Daily Mail mobile app:
