“Aníbal Augusto Sardinha (1915 - 1955), popularly known as Garoto, was the first guitar player to propose a new rhythmic pattern to play “samba“, and he introducted sophisticated harmonies in his arrangements and composition, creating the elements of a new Brazilian music that would be internationally known in the 60’s as bossa nova.
