Green Heron Fishes from Lily Pad Raft, August 21, 2015

A beautiful Green Heron stands motionless on top of a lily pad as it hunts for fish and amphibians. These small herons crouch patiently to surprise fish with a snatch of their daggerlike bill. They prefer to hunt from shady areas with vegetation or from the shoreline which can make them hard to spot. In this clip we have a clear view from the #PondCam on Sapsucker pond. Watch live at:
