Beijing Is Sinking! Floods Usher in Greater Horrors, Frequent Ground Collapse, and Metro Deformation

On July 30th, around 5:20pm, a road surface collapse occurred on the west side of the Beijing West Joy City Mall located in the Shijingshan District. It formed a deep pit approximately 24 square meters in area and about 6 meters deep, resembling a “sinkhole.“ The collapse took place on the road surface above the reserved passage connecting to Metro Line 6.
