Where Murkhaz speaks loudly of the sanctity of the old ways, of the nobility of old names, old clans, and old deeds, Gerewold has listened, and he has believed. Even as he is coming into his manhood, his will is stronger than ever; He will take his ways from those who have been long dead, ancestors revered, until now in word only. The deed will be his, no matter how his father wills it.
