Between 1939 and 1941, the forces of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany blazed a path of destruction, oppression and murder across the map of Europe and beyond and it seemed his ambition could never be satisfied. Only a badly beaten and barely holding-on Britain managed to hold back the tide long enough to guarantee that all of Europe wouldn’t be draped in a flag bearing the Swastika.
