Hyderabad-based International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials is engaged in the development of advanced and efficient mirrors for Space-optics applications. This autonomous R&D centre of the Department of Science and Technology, GOI, has developed Silicon Carbide based Mirrors in this direction. This indigenous product by ARCI will be used in Visible Emission Line Coronagraph, the main payload of India’s Solar mission Aditya L-1.
