Bonnie St. Claire, pseudonym of Bonje Cornelia Swart (Rozenburg, 18 november 1949) is a Dutch singer. She was born on a ship, and was the daughter of a skipper. In 1966 she was discovered by producer Peter Koelewijn, when she was allowed to sing a song on stage as a 17-year-old girl. In 1967 she got a recording contract through Koelewijn and made her first single under the stage name Bonny St. Claire. In the first half of the 1970’s she scored a few solo hits, initially still in English for instance in 1970 with the ballad “I won’t stand between them “.
