Witness - James R. Thomas (Official Music Video, Original Fingerstyle Guitar)

Hello friends, I hope you enjoy this new track ’Witness’. Please consider a like and subscribe to this channel for more releases from my upcoming album ’Movement’! The video for Witness was filmed in two places: The beginning of the video during a beautiful sunrise in the Philippines atop Mt Apo; the tallest mountain/volcano in the country, where I sat and contemplated life’s journey and the beauty connected to a new era of travel. A time of reflection of all things good and bad. Positive and negative. And how we as divine beings grow from all of our experiences. Secondly, all guitar parts are filmed next to a river during my time volunteering on a farm in South Korea. A period where I would, after work, go down to the river and record a new camera angle or two for about a week during my free time to ultimately create this playthrough video. I’d also like to mention that the audio for this track was recorded on my trusty Tanglewood Winterleaf; used for recording all of the album. This guitar was left behind for the time being in Australia due to travelling light, but I was fortunate enough to have been temporarily gifted a guitar during my travels in South Korea for a short amount of time - this is the guitar that you see in this video as a stand-in. Witness partly represents the old philosophical idea that “We are the Universe experiencing itself.“ In a broader sense: the sense of beauty in our actions when amplified by the witnessing of them by an external presence. By people, animals, nature, the passing of time - all ways in which the Universe can witness and experience its own existence. How we are witness to one another. How we are able to add so much beauty to life and the lives of others if we choose. Enjoy my friends!
