LIGHTING THE TALLEST TOWER IN EUROPE: the lighting design of Lakhta Center // ОСВЕЩЕНИЕ ЛАХТА ЦЕНТРА

The Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, the tallest skyscraper in Europe, stands at a majestic height of 462 meters, resembling a glistening crystal above the city. Inspired by water crystallization and the play of light in ice structures, the design incorporates abundant glass in its façade, creating a visual link with the natural surroundings. In the evening, the tower’s façade geometry is enhanced by a custom lighting system by INTILED, which took three years to complete. This system is adjustable and can produce various effects, ranging from subtle illumination to vibrant colors, transforming the building into a prominent landmark on St. Petersburg’s skyline. As per the technical specifications, INTILED has introduced a completely innovative lighting design product. The concept involved integrating light fixtures within the façade maintenance system rail and utilizing different combinations of optical systems to deliver consistent flood lighting for all façade configuration
