On September 19, the Cumbre Vieja volcano started to erupt on the island. At least 6 thousand people were evacuated. Many of them have lost all their property. The disaster destroyed about 1,000 buildings and tens of kilometers of roads. The fiery lava has already covered over 250 hectares of land and reached the ocean. Unfortunately, casualties and missing people have been reported. The flood affected over 58,000 families in 27 provinces. About 70,000 houses were flooded.
